This role supports a public-sector client and offers H-1B visa sponsorship eligibility for qualified candidates already residing in Wisconsin. The position is remote within the state of Wisconsin, with optional onsite work in Madison. Candidates must be current Wisconsin residents, as relocation is not permitted.

About Role

As an AWS Administrator, you will oversee the day-to-day reliability, performance, and security visibility of the organization’s cloud infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring that AWS services remain resilient, secure, cost-efficient, and continuously monitored.

You will collaborate closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams to enhance automation, observability, and incident response processes. The role includes hands-on cloud administration, security event monitoring, cost optimization, infrastructure automation, and disaster recovery readiness. Participation in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews is expected, along with contributions to operational documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain AWS compute, storage, networking, and IAM services
  • Monitor system health, availability, and cloud performance
  • Manage deployments and infrastructure provisioning using automation tools
  • Troubleshoot outages, performance issues, and integration challenges
  • Optimize cloud resource usage and cost efficiency
  • Maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery readiness
  • Monitor cloud security logs, alerts, and telemetry
  • Investigate security events and coordinate incident response
  • Support vulnerability management and remediation efforts
  • Develop operational dashboards, runbooks, and documentation
  • Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews

Requirements

  • Current Wisconsin resident (mandatory)
  • 5–7 years of AWS administration experience
  • Hands-on experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools
  • Knowledge of networking, IAM, and system administration
  • Experience investigating outages and security incidents
  • Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Eligibility for valid U.S. work authorization (H-1B, H-4, TN accepted; OPT/CPT not accepted)
