About Role

The Automation QA Engineer will join a high-impact technology project focused on modern microservices architectures running in Microsoft Azure environments. You will be responsible for validating complex distributed systems, building and executing automated tests across API, integration, and end-to-end layers, and ensuring high reliability, performance, and scalability in Kubernetes-based environments.

The role involves close collaboration with development and product teams in an agile environment and active participation in improving quality engineering practices, including automation strategy and, where applicable, Behavior-Driven Development.

Responsibilities

  • Test and validate modern microservices deployed in Microsoft Azure environments
  • Design, execute, and maintain automated tests across API, integration, and end-to-end layers
  • Validate integrations across distributed systems, including SFTP and Azure Storage services
  • Support and evolve test automation frameworks and automation best practices
  • Apply quality and testing practices in Kubernetes environments (AKS / k8s)
  • Monitor and analyze system performance using tools such as Dynatrace and report findings
  • Collaborate closely with developers and product teams in agile ceremonies
  • Contribute to quality strategy, continuous improvement, and BDD adoption where applicable
  • Validate platform integrations, including loyalty platforms and regulated systems when relevant

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a QA Automation Engineer or Automation Tester
  • Strong experience testing microservices architectures in Microsoft Azure environments
  • Working knowledge of Java and modern test automation frameworks
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes (AKS / k8s)
  • Experience with SFTP integrations and Azure Storage services (Blob, Table, Queue)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace or similar platforms
  • Solid understanding of automation best practices and quality engineering principles
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Willingness to relocate to Portugal and work under EU Blue Card or Portugal Tech Visa sponsorship
