- Be applying for a recognized exchange or study abroad program in one of the qualifying Indo-Pacific locations.

Timeline for Applications:
Here is a summary of the key dates and what to anticipate throughout the application process:
- ANU Application Period: The application process for the 2026 cycle will be available from 1 May to 31 May 2025 through the ANU Global Programs System.
- Simultaneous Exchange Application: Present your exchange or independent study abroad application at the same time via ANU Global Programs. Your academic plan needs to be for credit and authorized by your college.
- Round One – ANU Selection: A university panel will evaluate your application. Selected candidates will be given assistance and guidance for preparation.
- Round Two – DFAT Final Selection: Finalists will participate in an in-person interview with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) during September and October 2025. The final results will be revealed by December 2025.
