Job Title: Australia Electrical Design Engineer Jobs 2025

The Central-West Orana project is now looking for dedicated electrical design engineers to join our growing substation team and contribute their knowledge. This job will work closely with teams from several departments, such as design, procurement, construction, and quality assurance, to make sure that every part of the project is finished on schedule, under budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. You will work full-time in our Sydney offices from Monday to Friday.

Duties of Australia Electrical Design Engineer Jobs 2025

You will be in charge of designing the primary engineering for electrical substation projects with voltages up to 500 kV.
Second, you will find all the important standards and local customer needs. This will make sure that you follow all the necessary national and international standards and contract specifications.
Third, you will make sure that the design does not clash with any of the internal review stages that each discipline has set up for clash checks.
You will also specify the main design subsystems and bills of material to the point where the design can be accurately priced.
Finally, you will make sure that the designs are safe and meet the required electrical clearances. You will also make sure that there are enough facilities for maintenance over the life of the installation.

Requirements for Australia Electrical Design Engineer Jobs 2025

First and foremost, you need to have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a field that is linked to it.
Second, you need at least three years of relevant experience in foundations, preferably in substations.
Third, you need to be able to solve problems and think critically.
Also, you should know a lot about the most recent local standards and the IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards.
Last but not least, you need to know how to use a lot of different software programs, such as AutoCAD and ETAP.
