Astra Fellowship 2026 | Call for Applications
Expressions of interest are open for Constellation’s Astra Fellowship. This fully funded, five-month program accelerates AI safety research careers. Fellows work in-person at Constellation’s Berkeley research center. Over 80% of the first cohort now work full-time in AI safety.

About the Fellowship

What Fellows Receive
Fellows receive a monthly stipend of $8,400 throughout the program. Empirical fellows also get roughly $15,000 monthly for compute costs. Weekly mentorship comes from senior researchers across leading organizations. Fellows access incubation support for launching their own initiatives.
Who Can Apply
Applicants need technical or domain expertise relevant to AI safety work. Prior AI safety experience isn’t required to be considered. Candidates should want a full-time safety role or new organization. Both technical researchers and governance-focused candidates are welcome.
