APPOINTMENT OF ASSISTANT LECTURERS
The C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) is a Public University established in 2019 by the CKT-UTAS Act 1000.
The CKT-UTAS, which is located in Navrongo, Upper East Region, Ghana, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for appointment as Assistant Lecturers:
A. SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY
The Applicant seeking this Appointment must have:
- A research Masters (MPhil/MSc) and /or
- Specialist/Member of the Ghana college of Nurses & Midwives
- Professional License in the required subject discipline
- Must have at least 3 years clinical practice in subject area
- Valid Professional Identification Number from the NMC
Areas of Specialization
- Midwifery
- Paediatric Nursing
- General/adult Nursing
- Mental/learning disabilities health Nursing
- Public health Nursing
Teaching & Learning Criteria
- Familiar with Online learning systems
- Used blended learning
- Having a specialist license in the subject discipline
- A certificate in health professional education or teaching and learning fellowship
- Used Online learning systems
- Applied blended learning
- Competent in clinical skills instruction
Research/Grantsmanship
- Adequate knowledge of the body of knowledge in the subject discipline
- Experience of research in subject discipline
- Published in peer reviewed journals
B. FACULTY OF EARTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES
Areas of Specialization
- Geology
- Earth Science
- Geological Engineering
Qualifications
The applicant seeking this appointment must:
- Have a MPhil in either Geology, Earth Science, or Geological Engineering.
- Have at least two (2) peered-reviewed publications in reputable and highly ranked journals.
- Have a minimum of two (2) years teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution, and
- Preferably, the applicant should not be more than 35 years old.
C. FACULTY OF APPLIED SCIENCES
Areas of Specialization
- Biochemistry
- Medical Physics
- Geophysics
- Meteorology and Aerosol Science
- Plant Biology
- Animal Biology
- Laboratory Technology
Qualifications
The applicant seeking this appointment must:
- Have a MPhil in Biochemistry, Molecular Cell Biology and Immunology, Forensic Biotechnology, Nutritional Biochemistry, Medical Physics, Geophysics, Meteorology and Aerosol Science, Plant Biology, Animal Biology or Laboratory Technology.
- Have at least two (2) peered-reviewed publications in reputable and highly ranked journals.
- Have a minimum of two (2) years teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution, and
- Preferably, the applicant should not be more than 35 years old.
D. FACULTY OF MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES
Areas of Specialization
- Pure Mathematics
- Applied Mathematics
- Finance (or Financial Mathematics)
- Actuarial Science
Qualifications
- The applicant must have an MPhil in the in the respective areas.
- Having research publications in peer-reviewed journals of good reputation and teaching experience at the tertiary level will be an added advantage to the applicant.
- Preferably, the applicant should not be more than 35 years old.
Job Description
The duties and responsibilities of successful applicants under the Academic Staff Category shall include, but not limited to,
- Innovative and practical teaching and research
- curriculum development and revision
- setting and marking assignments and examination questions
- invigilation of examinations
- submitting marked scripts and results
- supervising students’ project work, dissertations and theses
- offering academic counselling to students; assisting in the administration of the University
- supervising students’ internships and fieldworks or industrial attachment
- mentoring junior colleagues; providing extension and outreach services
- mentoring junior colleagues; providing extension and outreach services to the University; and
- carrying out any other duties assigned by the Vice Chancellor or his/her representative.
