About the Fellowship

ASG has convened decision-makers on a non-partisan basis since 1984. It launched the Rising Leaders Program in 2021. The program breaks down silos between young professionals in related industries. It also builds lasting bonds across party lines and links rising talent with senior leaders. Participants meet senior officials, military leaders, members of Congress, journalists, and academics.

Each fellow writes a policy paper. ASG encourages co-authoring with a peer of a different perspective. The papers appear in an ASG policy book. Graduates join a lifelong alumni network. Key events include:

  • Kick-off, 17 to 19 March 2027: Washington, D.C.
  • Aspen Security Forum, 18 to 20 July 2027: Napa, California
  • Closing program, December 2027: Washington, D.C.
  • Regular virtual meetings run through the year.

What Fellows Receive

  • Regular discussions with senior national security experts
  • A writing workshop and publication of their policy paper
  • Formal and informal mentorship
