APRIL 2022 PAY SLIP: WHY THE DELAY?
THE GOG PAY SYSTEM
The GOG pay system is a system that enables government workers to access information about their payments. This system is to help improve the payroll system in Ghana. You can have access to this either on your phone or any computer. Following this, you just have to make sure you are connected to the Internet.
This system was introduced by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department in the Year 2013. In light of this, let’s take a look at the payment calendar that was released by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department(CAGD).
THE 2022 CONTROLLER PAYMENT CALENDAR
The Management of CAGD released a calendar that constitutes the dates for the payment of salaries for the year 2022. The notice that was released also stated that various banks will only credit the account of the employees on the indicated date. If there is any change, the management will communicate it to other Ministries, and the respective banks.

WHY NO PAYMENT ON 26TH APRIL 2022
Considering the above date that was released by the CAGD, government workers are expected to be paid on the 26th da of the month of April.
However, we are getting to the end of the month, yet still Government workers haven’t been paid. As a matter of fact, this issue has led to chaos amongst public sector workers. Until now, the government has not released any notice concerning the payment of April’s salary.
However, per their last notice, Employees were urged that if their payments were delayed, then it is possible because of their bank.
WAIT TILL NEXT WEEK?
Government workers are worried about the delay in their April salary and wage. Though the month is getting to an end, we still have a few more days. Whether Government workers will be patient or not depends on how fast CAGD works on paying their salary.
Since we have a few more days, we believe the workers will be patient enough. Government workers may proceed to take any action possibly after the end of the month and a week more into the month of May when the salaries have still not been paid.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Though CAGD set dates for payment of salaries, it’s quite unfortunate that these days are not being adhered to. According to CAGD, some of the banks pay very late while others pay on time. CAGD has already issued vouchers and validation has also been opened. Therefore, let’s hope that by the 30th of this month, Government workers will be duly paid.
