JOB PROFILE: ACCOUNT OFFICER

The post is permanent and headquartered in our headquarters in Accra.

What will be your role?

The Accounts Officer reports to the Chief Finance Officer and is responsible for regulatory reporting, account keeping, and providing standard financial information (general ledger, sub-ledgers, trial balances, balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement) and annex information for economic analysis purposes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform reconciliations to ensure that the accounts are comprehensive and accurate.
  • Participate in end-of-month/end-of-year closings and financial statement preparation.
  • Contribute to the budget Monitoring and Follow-Up
  • Managing supplier invoices by compiling, accumulating, and processing payments in appropriate ledgers.
  • Assist in preparing reports for internal and external users.
  • Provide the necessary information to both internal and external auditors.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to fulfill deadlines and maintain specified quality standards.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Good reporting and communication abilities.
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Manage your schedule and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills for resolving business issues and making judgments.
  • Paying attentive attention to minor things that may affect results.

  • Capable of completing tasks efficiently and effectively under pressure.
  • Consistently meet deadlines, regardless of the occasion.

What type of profile are you looking for?

You have a:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • At least part II qualified professional accountants from respected accounting institutions (e.g. CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
  • A minimum of two years of related experience.
  • Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with reconciliations are required.
  • A good understanding of the Micro Finance establishment will be beneficial.
