Accounts Officer – Receivable at AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited
AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine, is currently in the last stages of undergoing refurbishment to transform it into a contemporary, effective, and long-term profitable enterprise. The fully automated underground mining operation is intended to mine up to 5,000 t of ore per day on average.
We’re looking for a motivated, experienced individual to join our team as an Accounts Receivable Officer
The Accounts Officer – Receivables is responsible for directly supporting the Superintendent: Payable & Receivable in all output-related tasks, including estimating cash flow, collecting payments from creditors, shipping bullion, and managing creditors and debtors.
The position also makes sure that all tax-related statutory reports, including those for VAT, PAYE, royalties, and WHT taxes, are prepared and submitted in accordance with regulations. The section in charge of accounts payable and receivable ensures compliance with applicable laws in the management of both service and operating contracts and is in charge of mine-wide treasury operations.
The chosen individual is anticipated to play a significant role in all phases of the reconstruction project, including contract and service invoice validation and timely payment, bank reconciliation, and vendor reconciliations based on the SAP system.
Accountabilities
- Evaluate risks associated with each task and make sure they are managed both before and during task performance.
- Then, Ensure that all incidents are reported and that all necessary investigations and corrective actions are carried out promptly.
- Complete any corrective activities entrusted to you or falling under your purview as soon as possible.
- Also, Ensure compliance with safety KPIs, which include reporting all events and completing all assigned corrective actions on time.
- Follow the Departmental Manager’s environmental work regulations.
- Moreover, Examine environmental issues that occur in the designated work zones.
- Attend all designated environmental training sessions that are scheduled.
- Handling invoices (both domestic and international) and creating checks and remittances.
- All foreign payments in all currencies are reconciled.
- Configuring invoices with payment due dates on the online banking platform
- Producing daily bank statements to facilitate reconciliation
- Sending payments that have been endorsed by the Signatories.
- Giving details on payments made in accordance with E-Banking records.
- Create a weekly cash flow report.
- React to inquiries from suppliers.
- Oversee the handling of international payments.
- Distribute the circularization from the supplier for statements and coordinate reconciliation.
- In charge of Tema Ports tax returns and VAT
- Construct a cedi cash flow.
- Oversee the creation and printing of checks in local currency (cedi).
- Compare General Ledger (G/L) Accounts to Goods In Transit (GIT).
- Oversee the balancing of the financial statements of regional suppliers.
- Tracking transactions involving gold.
- Raise debit notes for clients and gather past-due accounts.
- Watch out for timely debt repayment from customers
- Ensure that the withholding tax schedule is prepared on time to make payments to GRA easier.
- Reconcile all outstanding accounts, which total more than 20 accounts.
- Debtors’ aging
Education & Experience
- An accounting degree, an HND with an accounting option, or an ACCA, CIMA, or ICAG Part 2 qualification.
Experience
- At least two to three years of experience working in mining.
Technical abilities
- Computer proficient and have a strong grasp of spreadsheets
- Knowledge and expertise of the entire mining cycle.
