Accounts Officer at LMI Holdings

Purpose

The Accounts Officer helps the organization reach its strategic accounting goals. The goal of this role is to use the available systems and procedures to prepare, enter, control, analyze, and report on important financial accounting information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Accounts payable: Using Sage ERP to process purchase invoices, keep an AP schedule, and do AP reconciliations.
• Bank reconciliations: By the 5th of every month, you should have done bank reconciliations for all of your banks.
• Accounts receivables: Using Sage ERP to process sales invoices, keep track of the AR schedule, and reconcile receivables.
• Keeping an eye on and balancing accounts between companies
• Review and reconcile the petty cash according to the policy and procedure. Make sure all the necessary paperwork is there, the related payment or report is processed or made correctly and on time, and the cash is refilled on time.
• Pass journal entries, GL reconciliation at the end of the month, and closing the account.
• Help put together the monthly management accounts.
• Help make the annual budget and the monthly budget for cash flow.
• Keeping an eye on the budget and making sure it’s followed
• Doing a weekly stock count and helping with the end-of-month stock count.

Competencies

• IFRS/IAS/GAAP
• Planning & budgeting skills
• Reasoning that is logical and analytical.
• Skills in Financial Management and Reporting.
• Sage X3 accounting software skills.

Qualifications/Experience

• A good first degree in accounting or finance from a recognized school ICAG/ACCA/CIMA Part II or its equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar job
