Job Title: Dispatch Officer

Position Overview

TaxiStar Limited is looking for a diligent and proactive Dispatch Officer to join our dynamic fleet operations team in Accra. The ideal candidate will act as the vital link between our fleet and our drivers, guaranteeing that every car and motorbike is road-ready and efficiently assigned. Core Responsibilities and Daily Duties

In this operational role, you will be responsible for a variety of key tasks essential to our service delivery. Your primary duties will include the following:

Vehicle Inspection and Readiness: You will conduct thorough inspections of all cars and motorbikes prior to dispatch. Consequently, you must ensure each vehicle meets our strict safety and operational standards.
Logistics Coordination: A central part of your role involves clearly communicating job details, optimal routes, and specific instructions to our drivers. Furthermore, you will manage the orderly flow of vehicles in and out of the depot.
Record Keeping and Reporting: You must maintain meticulous and accurate dispatch logs. Additionally, preparing clear daily activity reports for management is a fundamental requirement.
Basic Vehicle Maintenance: You will perform essential care and basic maintenance tasks on the fleet. This includes checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and ensuring overall vehicle cleanliness.
Operational Compliance: Upholding all company dispatch protocols and safety regulations is mandatory. You will also assist in monitoring driver compliance with assigned routes and schedules.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

To be successful in this position, candidates must demonstrate the following:

An HND or a Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field.
A minimum of six months of professional experience in a logistics, dispatch, or fleet operations role.
A valid Ghanaian driver’s licence with the ability to confidently operate both cars and motorbikes.
Exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail for record-keeping.
Strong, clear verbal and written communication abilities.
A proactive problem-solving mindset to handle daily operational challenges.
Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle checks and identify minor issues.
Moreover, you must be reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Finally, proficiency with basic computer applications for logging and reporting is highly advantageous.
