POSITION: Relationship Manager

Your Core Responsibilities and Impact:

As a Relationship Manager, you will play a central role in the branch’s success. Your daily focus will involve a blend of revenue generation, client management, and strategic business development.

  • Generate and Expand Revenue: Proactively create new revenue streams by thoroughly analyzing both existing and prospective customer portfolios to identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities
  • Grow the Customer Base: Actively support the branch’s market expansion efforts by acquiring new accounts and strategically reactivating dormant customer relationships to boost overall business activity.
  • Achieve Performance Targets: Take ownership of your personal and team goals by consistently meeting and surpassing assigned monthly and annual sales and revenue targets.
  • Uphold Compliance and Risk Standards: Ensure strict adherence to all bank policies, particularly the ‘Know Your Customer’ protocols for account opening and the comprehensive guidelines for operational risk management.
  • Deliver Exceptional Client Service: Provide efficient, high-quality service to maintain existing customers, thereby enhancing their satisfaction and fostering long-term loyalty to FirstBank Ghana.
  • Drive Key Financial Metrics: Actively assist the branch in critical growth initiatives, including deposit mobilization, loan and advance disbursement, foreign exchange transactions, and overall profitability enhancement for your assigned segment.
  • Structure Tailored Credit Solutions: Carefully assess customer requirements to structure appropriate credit facilities that align with their needs while fully complying with the bank’s lending policies and risk appetite.

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience:

To excel in this customer-focused role, you will need a combination of formal education and hands-on banking expertise.

  • You must possess a First Degree or its equivalent in any relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Holding a relevant professional qualification in banking, finance, or a related field will be a strong advantage.
  • You have a minimum of three years of direct, relevant experience in a customer-facing banking role, with a clear understanding of retail banking products and relationship management.
  • You demonstrate a proven ability to meet sales targets and drive revenue growth within a financial services environment.
  • You exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to build trust and effectively negotiate with clients.
  • You possess a strong working knowledge of banking regulations, compliance standards, and credit risk principles.
  • You are a strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities, capable of structuring complex financial solutions.
