About Role

As the Senior Databricks Developer, you will serve as the technical lead for advanced analytics and research workloads within a Databricks Lakehouse environment. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines using PySpark and/or Scala on Databricks
  • Architect and manage Delta Lake environments, including ingestion, data quality enforcement, and schema evolution
  • Optimise Databricks clusters, Spark jobs, and workloads for performance and cost efficiency
  • Define and enforce data governance, security, and access control using Unity Catalog and related tools
  • Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to productionise research and analytical models

  • Strong experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and integration with cloud storage services
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and a solid understanding of data modelling principles
  • Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automation tools such as Terraform
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, especially in regulated or compliance-driven environments
