Cardinal Namdini Mining Ltd (CNML), a subsidiary of Shandong Gold Mining Co. Ltd., is developing a world-class gold mining operation in Ghana’s Upper East Region. We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to support our operations in meeting Health and Safety Management system requirements. This role is pivotal for driving safety initiatives in the workplace and ensuring strict adherence to all relevant health and safety legislation.

Job Purpose and Primary Duties

You will provide expert safety guidance and actively promote a culture of zero harm across the site.

Provide professional health and safety advice to both CNML and contractor teams on site.
Support the development and implementation of Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures, and programs.
Actively promote a safety culture that mitigates risks to personnel, plant, and equipment.
Monitor the implementation of the operational Health and Safety Management plan and drive continuous improvement.
Conduct comprehensive project health and safety inductions for all new starters.
Assist in maintaining all health and safety records in accordance with statutory and company requirements.
Review incident investigations, including near misses, and facilitate thorough root cause analyses.
Coordinate risk assessments and regular site inspections.
Attend Project Health and Safety Committee meetings and contractor meetings as the CNML representative.
Perform additional duties as assigned by your Supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a degree in Health and Safety Management, Engineering, or a related Physical Sciences field.

A minimum of a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer’s certificate of competence from the Minerals Commission is mandatory.
Hold a NEBOSH International Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
Have a minimum of three years of experience in the extractive industry or mine construction sector.
Possess sound knowledge of Ghanaian mining health and safety regulations and management systems like ISO 45001:2018.
The ability to communicate orally in the local dialect is a strong advantage.
Must hold a valid Ghana DVLA license (Category B) with at least two years of driving experience.
Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm and confident during emergencies.

Special Conditions and Work Environment

This role involves working in a multicultural environment that values diversity and inclusion. You must be prepared for extended working hours, intense pressure, stringent deadlines, and high volume work. Medical fitness for the position and the mining environment is essential.
