Process & Plant Automation Ghana Ltd (TAGG) is seeking a dynamic Sales Engineer to join our commercial team. This role is designed for a technical sales professional expected to achieve defined sales targets by serving as an expert resource to clients. You will increase our profitable client base through proactive engagement with existing and prospective customers via telephone, face-to-face meetings, and email. A key part of your role will be identifying technologies and areas of expertise that provide a competitive market advantage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will blend technical consulting, strategic planning, and direct client engagement.

  • Develop, respond to, and present detailed proposals for specific customer technical solutions.
  • Create and execute strategic sales and business plans for your assigned territory.
  • Identify and pursue resale opportunities while maintaining regular client contact to secure and renew orders.
  • Arrange product demonstrations, training sessions, and trial installations for clients.
  • Visit prospects to inform them about new solutions, technologies, pricing, and availability.
  • Collaborate with internal sales teams to comprehensively address customer needs.
  • Continuously develop greater knowledge and skills in your technical or professional area of expertise.
  • Ensure a level of customer service that clearly differentiates us from competitors and actively seek customer feedback.
  • Act as a consultant to your specific market segment, maintaining awareness of competitor solutions and regional business dynamics.
  • Create strategies that balance short-term requirements with long-range business plans and cultivate professional networks.
  • Uphold the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and all Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE) responsibilities, including hazard identification and adherence to safe work procedures.

Industry Team Collaboration

You will work within a cross-functional Industry Team to foster collaboration and achieve collective targets. Team duties include assisting in developing strategic sales plans, acquiring working knowledge of industry climate and competition, and achieving daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals aligned with team and vendor strategy.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a closely related science program.
  • Demonstrate the ability to champion new ideas, lead initiatives, and take a stand on important customer issues.
  • Hold self and others accountable for achieving goals and meeting commitments.
  • Exhibit a strong drive for self-development to establish greater professional “bench strength.”
  • Possess excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
