Kempinski Hotels is seeking an Assistant Banquet Manager dedicated to producing an outstanding guest experience. You will assist in managing the service team in close cooperation with our culinary staff, delivering a courteous, professional, and efficient service that embodies the outlet and Kempinski luxury standards. This role is designed to drive sales, maximize profit, and prepare you to grow into the position of Banquet Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Leadership Duties

You will oversee the Banquet Supervisor and Wait Staff, setting a professional example in punctuality, grooming, and service excellence.

Assist in leading the outlet with a focus on cost control, revenue generation, and consistently delivering the highest quality service.
Provide and ensure a professional, courteous service standard from all team members within the assigned outlet.
Maintain a clean, organized work environment and act as the Manager on Duty in the Banquet Manager’s absence.
Possess thorough knowledge of all hotel services and products, understanding the outlet concept to assume training responsibilities.
Understand the monthly departmental profit and loss statement and conduct outlet meetings when required.
Perform effective upselling for all department offerings and assist in fostering clear communication and teamwork between service and culinary teams.
Attend and contribute to all necessary staff meetings, departmental trainings, and hotel-initiated development sessions.
Operate the point of sale (POS) system proficiently and assist in producing reports and analysis for monthly performance reviews.
Plan daily checklists, station assignments, and attend pre-shift briefings to prepare the team.
Handle guest enquiries and complaints courteously and efficiently, ensuring proper follow-up.
Implement opening and closing procedures, assign responsibilities to subordinates, and carry out scheduled inventories.
Act as the Food and Beverage Duty Manager when required and attend all relevant management meetings.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

Candidates should hold a BA or BSc in Hospitality Management or a related field, preferably from a recognized hotel school
Possess five years of overall experience with a minimum of one year in a Food and Beverage management role, preferably within Banquets.
Ability to work independently under pressure, propose rational solutions, and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication.
Establish and retain effective working relationships with hotel staff, clients, and vendors while delegating tasks effectively.
Exhibit strong organizational, time management skills, and a professional, confidential, ethical approach.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and relevant hotel operating systems.
