Study in Philippine | DOST Undergrad Fully-funded Scholarships 2026

The Science Education Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-SEI) has formally launched the application process for the 2026 Undergraduate Science Scholarship, which is among the Philippines’ premier and most desired government scholarship programs aimed at aspiring scientists, engineers, and innovators.

The initiative encourages Grade 12 students intending to seek a college degree in priority science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) areas to submit their applications via the official portal.

Reasons for Students to Apply?

The DOST–SEI Undergraduate Scholarship represents more than just financial support for education — it serves as a national investment in the nation’s most promising scientific talents. It provides students the opportunity to finish college without monetary concerns while belonging to a distinguished group of scholars prepared to guide the Philippines’ science and technology field.

Candidates who are chosen will receive:

  • Complete or partial payment for tuition and additional school expenses (₱40,000 annually)
  • ₱8,000 monthly budget for living expenses
  • ₱10,000 yearly allowance for learning resources or internet access.
  • Benefits for transportation, attire, and health insurance
  • ₱10,000 research assistance and ₱1,000 completion reward.

This program enables students to concentrate fully on their academic education and research instead of financial limitations — a crucial benefit for individuals from public institutions or low-income backgrounds aiming to attend the nation’s leading science universities.

Scholarship Opportunities Offered

The program provides two admission pathways depending on the applicant’s background and qualifications:

RA 7687 Scholarship (Science and Technology Scholarship Law of 1994):

For students with academic qualifications from low-income families who want to study science, engineering, and mathematics.

Merit-Based Scholarship Program:

For students with exceptional talent in science and mathematics, irrespective of household income, who plan to pursue professional careers in STEM fields.

Both groups have a common goal to cultivate the next wave of scientists, engineers, researchers, and innovators who will propel national advancement.

Eligibility Requirements

Qualified candidates should:

  • Be citizens of the Philippines by birth with sound moral character and good physical health.
  • Be current Grade 12 students in the STEM strand, or among the top 5% of their class if coming from a non-STEM strand.
  • Lacking any past post-secondary education or a former DOST scholarship.
  • Plan to register in preferred S&T programs at accredited universities.

Eligible students can enroll at the University of the Philippines, State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), or private institutions recognized by CHED as Centers of Excellence or Centers of Development.

DOST seeks to boost participation in 2026, building on more than 270 active scholars in Pangasinan and thousands across the country to secure a reliable stream of Filipino scientists and engineers prepared to contribute to research, innovation, and national industries
