The Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT) has officially opened the application period for its prestigious Doctoral Training Scholarships for the 2026 academic session. Objective of the Program

Value of the Scholarship
Selected candidates will be awarded $25,000 each year for a maximum of four (04) years, ensuring financial security during their doctoral education. The funding aims to diminish financial obstacles, enabling students to concentrate on their research and educational advancement.
Eligibility Requirements
The scholarships are available to a wide range of applicants. Candidates who qualify must:
- Have a valid Quebec health insurance card (RAMQ) as a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or
- Submit evidence of acceptance into a doctoral program at a Quebec university, or provide a supervisor acceptance document from a Quebec university.
- Candidates should not have finished over 14 full-time academic terms in their doctoral program by May 1, 2026.
- Applications can be submitted in French or English, but the scholarship title must be in French.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit their applications online via the FRQnet system. The application form and all accompanying documents must be filled out and submitted online by the deadline. The portal becomes available one month prior to the competition’s end, giving applicants enough time to ready their dossiers.
Scholarship funds will be distributed directly by the FRQNT as soon as universities verify the student’s status of full-time enrollment. Students must promptly inform both the university and FRQ of any alterations in their registration status.
