Overview of Scholarships

The PhD role provides applicants the opportunity to advance next-generation electron-beam lithography (EBL) methods focused on creating durable artificial quantum superlattices with exceptional precision. The selected individual will utilize DTU’s cutting-edge clean room resources, acquiring sought-after knowledge in nanofabrication, quantum electronics, and advanced materials science.

The initiative focuses on advancing methodologies, improving reproducibility, and enhancing resolution. Research tasks will encompass:

  • Creating and refining lithography methods to reach precision below 15 nm.
  • Performing nanoscale analysis with SEM, AFM, and TEM.
  • Conducting proof-of-concept quantum transportation experiments at low temperatures.
  • Working with global specialists and recording replicable procedures.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must possess a two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS credits) or an equivalent credential. The best candidates will exhibit:

  • Practical experience in electron-beam lithography or nanofabrication.
  • A solid foundation in condensed matter physics, quantum mechanics, or materials science.
  • Laboratory expertise with 2D substances like graphene, α-RuCl3, or TMDs.
  • Expertise in microscopy and electronic measurement systems.
  • Outstanding proficiency in written and verbal English, coupled with effective teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Experience in quantum electronic devices or measurements of low-temperature transport will be regarded as a benefit, although it is not required.

Compensation and Perks

The position is for a duration of three years in accordance with the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Academics will obtain a salary and benefits consistent with union guidelines.
