The Department of Recreational Sports at The Ohio State University is now accepting applications for its highly regarded Graduate Assistantship Program for the 2026–2027 academic year. This opportunity is open to both domestic and international students, and individuals from all backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

These assistantships offer a rare combination of academic funding and hands-on professional development. As a graduate assistant, you’ll have the chance to work in key areas such as sport management, student services, and campus recreation, playing an integral role in shaping student life at one of the largest and most prestigious public universities in the U.S.

Whether your passion lies in organizing intramural sports, developing wellness programs, managing campus facilities, or supporting student engagement, this assistantship provides a platform to build practical skills, enhance your resume, and grow as a leader—all while pursuing a master’s degree with your tuition covered.

A minimum GPA of 3.0 is necessary for acceptance into the Graduate School at Ohio State. Recreational Sports is not taking applicants from other programs.

Financial Benefits & Timeframe

Graduate Assistants at Ohio State University are hired on a 9-month contract and earn a competitive monthly stipend of roughly $2,682.
