Belgium International Training Scholarships 2026

Belgium’s ARES International Training Scholarships are set to resume for the academic year 2026–2027. These scholarships offer fully funded opportunities for specialized bachelor’s and master’s programs, as well as short professional training courses. The initiative aims to support talented individuals from 31 partner nations of ARES (the Academy of Research and Higher Education).

If you have aspirations of advancing your skills at a prestigious institution in Europe without the burden of significant financial expenses, this is an ideal chance for you. The application process will open on 4 August 2025, so it’s a good time to start preparing your materials and gathering any necessary documents to ensure a successful application.

What Makes This Scholarship Unique

In contrast to numerous scholarships that solely provide tuition support, ARES includes all expenses necessary for living, studying, and thriving in Belgium:

  • International round-trip flights
  • Monthly stipend (for the entire duration of the program)
  • Full tuition coverage
  • Costs for insurance and visas
  • Assistance with living costs while participating in brief training programs.

Whether you’re pursuing a Specialized Bachelor’s, a Specialized Master’s, or a 2–6 month continuing education program, this curriculum is intended to empower you as a change-maker in your native country.

Eligibility Requirements

You qualify if you:

  • Possess citizenship from one of the 31 partner nations (Palestinian citizens are also qualified).
  • Are continuously living in one of these nations.
  • Possess an applicable higher education qualification:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent for the Specialized Master’s program.
  • Qualification at the secondary level for a Specialized Bachelor’s degree
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of pertinent work experience following graduation.
  • Can offer solid academic and professional referrals.

Available Study Areas

ARES provides a diverse range of programs for 2026–2027, encompassing:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Data Analysis
  • Specialized Master’s – Health Risk Management, International & Development Economics, Human Rights, Microfinance, Transportation & Logistics, and additional fields.
  • Brief Ongoing Training Programs – Digital University Teaching, Transitional Justice, Sustainable Development Project Coordination, Global Health Data Science, among others.

How to Apply

  • Establish a GIRAF Account: The authorized online application platform (complete this before 12 September 2025).
  • Choose Your Program: Opt for just one program each application year.
  • Gather Your Documents: This encompasses reference letters, official diplomas, academic records, and verification of employment/residence.
  • Online Submission: Only applications through GIRAF are permitted; email submissions will not be accepted.
  • Await Results: Notices will be dispatched by June 2026 to successful applicants and those on the waitlist.

Applications Deadlines

The competition for the ARES International Training Scholarships 2026–2027 officially begins on 4 August 2025, when the application period starts. However, don’t settle in too much; your initial goal is to set up a GIRAF account by 12 September 2025 at precisely noon Belgian time (miss it, and you’re finished).

The last phase is the submission of applications by 19 September 2025 at noon Belgian time. Next arrives the waiting period, as the end is near when the final results are released in June 2026—either delivering the good news of victory or prompting another attempt next year
