Job Duties

As a Telecommunications Equipment Technician, you will:

• Diagnose and locate faults in telecommunications equipment.
• Inspect the operation of telecommunications systems.
• Install, configure, remove, and maintain telephone equipment and wiring.
• Repair or replace defective telephone equipment.
• Test installed telephone systems to identify any transmission faults.
• Analyze test results, adjusting or repairing the switching system and related software.
• Complete and maintain accurate test and service reports.
• Determine the nature and location of troubleshooting issues.
• Install electromechanical, analog, and digital systems in telecommunications centers.

Job Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates must:

• Be fluent in English.
• Hold a secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Have 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant experience.
• Be client-focused and able to act on their initiative.
• Possess strong decision-making skills.
