The Opportunity

We are seeking a meticulous and reliable Accountant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will manage the company’s complete financial records and ensure all accounts are accurate and current. Your role will be central to providing reliable financial reporting, supporting strategic planning, and ensuring the proper stewardship of company resources.

Job Summary

As our Accountant, you will oversee day-to-day financial operations and maintain the integrity of our books. You will support management with clear financial insights, ensure compliance with statutory obligations, and contribute to effective budgeting and cost control. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional looking to build a career within a mission-driven agribusiness.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

You will handle a broad range of accounting functions essential to our business:

First, you will maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and full books of accounts.
You will prepare all invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers, ensuring proper documentation.
A core responsibility involves preparing detailed monthly and annual financial reports for management review.
Furthermore, you will ensure all tax filings and statutory payments are calculated accurately and submitted on time.
You will also monitor company expenditures, implement cost control measures, and reconcile bank statements regularly.
Additionally, you will support internal and external audits by providing all necessary financial documents and explanations.
You will collaborate with management on annual budgeting and long-term financial planning.
Finally, you will perform any other accounting-related duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounting principles and practices:

A Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
A minimum of two years of hands-on experience as an accountant or accounts officer.
Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Good understanding of maintaining complete financial records and generating management reports.
