UK Extends ETA to EU Travelers from April 2: Complete Details
The UK is increasing its Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system so that all European visitors will have to use it starting April 2, 2025. This new rule comes after a gradual rollout for visitors from the US, Canada, Australia, and a number of Gulf countries.
Here’s everything you need to know about the ETA if you want to go on a trip in the UK in 2025, such as how to apply, how much it costs, and how long it is good for.
In relation to the UK ETA
Britain ETA is a digital travel authorization that people who do not need a visa but still want to visit the UK for a short time are needed to have. In place of the Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW), this is a cheaper, more flexible choice that lets you enter the country more than once.
It is important to know that an ETA is not the same thing as a ticket. It only permits you to travel to the UK, but it does not ensure you will get in. When you get to the border, officials will make the final choice.
What Will Happen If You Do Not Give an ETA?
Not getting an ETA before going to the UK could get you fined or keep you from getting on the plane. The UK government has not said how much the fines will be, but they have said that airlines will be in charge of making sure passengers have correct ETAs.
Transit people who do not go through UK border control do not have to have an ETA. But people coming into the UK, even for a short time, will need an ETA.
