Romania Government Fully Funded Scholarship 2025

The Romanian Government, through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has officially announced the Romania Government Scholarship for 2025. This initiative offers a comprehensive, fully funded opportunity for non-European Union students to pursue their academic aspirations in Romania. The scholarship covers various levels of higher education, including undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs.

These programs are available at accredited universities throughout the country, allowing recipients to immerse themselves in Romania’s rich cultural heritage while receiving a quality education in their chosen fields. This scholarship not only alleviates financial burdens but also opens the door to a unique international experience, fostering academic and personal growth in a vibrant and diverse environment.

Accessible Programs 

Students may seek admission to degree programs in every area except for Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy. The grant includes:

  • Bachelor’s Programs (3-6 years, in Romanian Language).
  • Master’s Programs (1-2 years, in Romanian Language).
  • PhD Programs (3-5 years, accessible in Romanian or other languages, in accordance with university policies.)

Students who do not know Romanian will have a one-year preparatory course prior to beginning their studies, unless they are PhD candidates choosing programs in English or a different language.

Eligibility Requirements

The Romania Government Scholarship is open to individuals from outside the EU who:

  • Achieve a minimum academic performance of 7/10 (or an equivalent ‘Good’ rating) in their most recently completed educational institution.
  • Provide a full application along with all necessary documents.
  • Fulfill particular requirements for their selected degree program.
  • Neither Romanian citizens nor individuals with an alternative protection status in Romania.
  • Family members of diplomatic staff accredited in Romania are not included.

Required Documents:

  • Certificates and academic records (translated into English, French, Spanish, or Romanian)
  • Certificate of birth (translated)
  • Passport or national identification card (translated)
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) in French or English
  • PhD candidates must provide a Letter of Intent containing research specifics and an acceptance letter from their doctoral advisor.

Benefits of Scholarship 

Beneficiaries of the Romania Government Scholarship will obtain:

  • Complete tuition coverage for the whole length of their chosen academic program.
  • The monthly stipend varies by the level of education: bachelor’s students will get 65 euros, master’s students will receive 75 euros, and PhD students will be awarded 85 euros.
  • Dormitory Accommodation Subsidy for students (depending on availability).
  • A One-Year Romanian Preparatory Course for students seeking admission to undergraduate and master’s programs.
  • Access to public transportation under the same stipulations as Romanian students.
  • Waiver of Registration and Visa Charges.
