Brazil TWAS-CNPq Postgraduate Fellowship 2025

This partnership has resulted in the creation of the TWAS-CNPq Postgraduate Fellowship Programme, specifically designed for promising scientists from developing countries, excluding Brazil itself.

Program Summary
The TWAS-CNPq Postgraduate Fellowships enable chosen individuals to conduct PhD research at Brazilian research institutions for a period of up to four (04) years. Participants will register at their host institutions and are required to follow the corresponding academic calendar, as most programs are offered in Portuguese.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the fellowship, applicants need to:
- Possess a Master’s degree (MSc) in Natural Sciences.
- Be a citizen of a developing nation (not including Brazil).
- Do not possess a visa for permanent or temporary residence in Brazil or an advanced nation.
- Show intention to go back to their home country after finishing the fellowship.
- Submit a formal acceptance letter from a Brazilian institution recognized by CAPES.
- Demonstrate language skills in Portuguese, Spanish, or English.
- Present a comprehensive research plan that has been approved by the host supervisor.
- Maintain an updated résumé on CNPq’s Lattes Platform.
- Take financial responsibility for any family members who accompany you.
