Head of Developer Relations Job in USA 2025 with H-1B Visa Sponsorship

Interfere is hiring a Head of Developer Relations in New York for 2025, offering H-1B visa sponsorship and a competitive annual salary of $120,000–$150,000, alongside founding-team equity. This senior leadership role is designed for a deeply technical, product-minded builder who will define how developers understand, adopt, and build with Interfere’s AI-driven self-healing software platform.

The position sits at the heart of product, engineering, design, and community, shaping how modern software reliability is reimagined globally.

About the Role

As Head of Developer Relations (also serving as Head of Community & DevRel), you will be the voice, architect, and steward of Interfere’s developer ecosystem. You will build trust with developers, founders, and technical leaders while translating complex AI-native infrastructure concepts into clear, compelling narratives. This is a high-ownership, in-person leadership role where you will influence product direction, adoption, and community growth from the ground up.

About the Hiring Firm

Interfere is a venture-backed technology company building the self-healing layer of the internet—software that detects failures, diagnoses root causes, and deploys fixes autonomously before users notice issues. Backed by over $5.1M in funding from Y Combinator, Vercel Ventures, Hummingbird, Designer Fund, and others, Interfere is redefining software reliability at the intersection of AI, infrastructure, and product excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a trusted, production-grade developer community around Interfere’s platform
  • Define and communicate clear narratives around self-healing software, AI reliability, and autonomous systems
  • Create high-quality developer documentation, guides, demos, and examples that drive real adoption
  • Establish strong feedback loops between developers, community members, and core engineering teams
  • Deliver developer education through talks, workshops, technical writing, and live events
  • Build and maintain a strategic presence across GitHub, Discord/Slack, conferences, and technical media
  • Identify and support early champions who influence the roadmap and advocate organically for the platform
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and design teams to shape developer experience and tooling

Requirements

  • Strong technical credibility with hands-on experience working closely with engineers or as an engineer
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical systems into clear, compelling stories and resources
  • Deep understanding of how developers build, debug, and adopt new platforms
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Systems-level thinking across community, product adoption, and ecosystem growth
  • Strong sense of ownership, quality, and execution speed
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and build foundational programs from scratch
Nice to Have
  • Prior experience in developer relations, developer marketing, or technical community leadership
  • Background in developer tools, infrastructure, observability, or AI platforms
  • Track record of technical writing, public speaking, or conference talks
  • Experience growing early-stage developer communities from zero to scale
  • Open-source contributions, blogs, talks, or other public proof of impact
