Responsibilities of a Healthcare Assistant

As a healthcare assistant, you will provide direct care to patients under the supervision of licensed nurses or doctors. Your primary duties include:

• Assisting with Basic Patient Care: You will help patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Additionally, you will monitor vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Supporting Nurses and Doctors: You will work closely with medical staff, assisting with routine procedures such as dressing changes and wound care. Under supervision, you may also assist in more complex procedures.
• Maintaining Patient Records: It will be your responsibility to keep accurate patient records. This includes recording vital signs, medication administration, and other crucial patient information while ensuring confidentiality.
• Ensuring Patient Comfort and Safety: You will play a critical role in maintaining patient comfort and safety. This involves repositioning patients to prevent pressure ulcers and providing emotional support.
