Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of engineers delivering high-availability, secure, and scalable API services
Establish technical credibility through hands-on engagement and high-quality execution
Build foundational API capabilities that enable faster and higher-quality product delivery across engineering teams
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and blameless retrospectives
Drive deep technical discussions within the team and across the wider engineering organization
Collaborate with stakeholders to define benchmarks, milestones, and delivery priorities
Partner with other engineering managers to identify shared challenges and platform-level improvements
Communicate team progress, outcomes, and impact to engineering leadership
Grow personal leadership capabilities through mentorship from senior engineering leaders

Requirements

2+ years of leadership experience, mentoring, and evaluating software engineers
5+ years of enterprise software development experience, particularly in Python
Strong ability to engage in both technical and business discussions at tactical and strategic levels
Experience designing and operating cloud-based SaaS platforms
Knowledge of continuous delivery principles and modern DevOps practices
Ability to balance business delivery goals with long-term platform quality and reliability
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Bonus qualifications include AWS expertise (VPC, ECS, EKS), experience in regulated industries, Java proficiency, and Spanish fluency
