Job Title: Restaurant Manager

The Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dining outlets, which may include restaurants, bars, and room service. You will supervise all aspects of service, contribute to menu strategy, uphold rigorous sanitation standards, and actively support the team during peak periods. Your leadership will directly drive guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance of your department. This role requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about food, beverage, and creating memorable experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Your leadership will span operational management, team development, and guest service excellence. Core duties include:

Managing Daily Operations:

  • First, you will supervise and manage all restaurant employees, understanding each role well enough to step in when necessary.
  • You will maintain the highest service and sanitation standards across all food and beverage outlets.
  • Furthermore, you will review staffing levels continuously to balance exceptional guest service with operational and financial goals.

Leading the Team:

  • You will utilize strong interpersonal skills to lead, influence, and build a cooperative, trust-based team environment.
  • You will identify developmental needs, providing coaching and mentorship to improve team knowledge and skills.
  • Additionally, you will ensure full compliance with all food & beverage policies, safety standards, and local liquor laws through effective training and hands-on management.

Ensuring Exceptional Guest Service:

  • A primary focus involves delivering service that exceeds guest expectations to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • You will act as the ultimate guest service role model, empowering your team to provide outstanding hospitality.
  • You will also handle guest concerns promptly and proactively gather feedback to drive continuous service improvement.

Managing Human Resources:

  • You will provide clear guidance, set performance standards, and monitor team performance.
  • You will foster employee retention by ensuring fair treatment, facilitating ongoing training, and maintaining an open-door policy.
  • Finally, you will recognize and celebrate team achievements to maintain high morale and performance.

Additional Duties:

  • You will analyze operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • You will assist servers and hosts on the floor during busy meal periods.
  • You will also oversee key financial aspects, including purchasing and invoice management.

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience:

  • Option 1: A high school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional area.
  • Option 2: A 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major with 2 years of relevant experience.

Core Competencies:

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
  • Strong financial acumen and business decision-making skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant operations, service standards, and sanitation protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
