About the Role

As a Deputy Nurse Manager, you will play a central leadership role within the care home, working closely with the General Manager to ensure excellent care delivery and operational effectiveness. You will take responsibility for leadership duties in the General Manager’s absence and act as a role model for clinical excellence and professional conduct.

The role combines hands-on clinical oversight with strategic input, staff motivation, and compliance monitoring, ensuring residents receive safe, effective, and compassionate care at all times.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Support and oversee the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care across the care home.
Lead, inspire, and motivate a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for residents.
Monitor care standards through audits, supervised clinical practice, and ongoing quality checks.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Manage safeguarding investigations and conduct clinical risk assessments.
Contribute to the development and delivery of strategies that improve care quality and operational performance.
Provide leadership cover in the absence of the General Manager.

To succeed in this role, you will bring proven experience supporting residents with a wide range of health needs and a strong background in managing safeguarding and clinical risk. You will have a sound understanding of people management, with some exposure to HR processes, alongside knowledge of sales, marketing, and budget management within a care environment.
