Job Title: Female WASH Specialist

Company Profile

The Centre for Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (C-WASH) is a dedicated Ghanaian non-governmental organization. We are committed to improving access to safe, sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene services for communities and critical institutions like schools and healthcare facilities. Our Head Office is in Accra, opposite the Adenta–Frafraha Foster Home, with a Field Office in Bolgatanga, Upper East Region.

The Opportunity

C-WASH is actively recruiting a self-motivated and results-oriented Female WASH Specialist. This position is based in the Upper East Region and is crucial for the success of our ongoing Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene project in Senior High Schools. We encourage applications from qualified female candidates from the Upper East Region who are passionate about community development and public health.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be instrumental in project delivery and stakeholder engagement. Her core duties will include:

First, she will lead the hands-on implementation of WASH activities within designated Senior High Schools.
She will work diligently to ensure the project meets all its stated objectives, targets, and quality standards.
Furthermore, she will build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with project schools, local communities, and other key stakeholders.
A critical focus will be on promoting inclusive implementation and designing strategies for the long-term sustainability of WASH facilities.
She will also prepare regular field reports, monitor project progress, and provide direct support to school WASH committees.
Finally, she will report directly to the Manager of the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Senior High Schools Project (WinSHS).

Required Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will combine relevant education with practical field experience:

Educational Qualification:

A B-TECH/BSc in Civil Engineering, Water and Sanitation, or a related technical field.
Alternatively, a BA/BSc in Development Studies or the Social Sciences.

Relevant Experience:

At least one year of demonstrated professional experience working in the WASH sector.
Practical familiarity with project implementation in a community or school-based setting is highly advantageous.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively within the Upper East Region.

Contract Details

This is a one-year contract position. The organization may renew the contract based on satisfactory performance and the continued availability of project funding.
