About Role

In addition to managing the warehouse and transportation operations of a specialized McDonald’s distributorship, the Operations Supervisor is in charge of organizing and scheduling the labor and tools used by the hourly workforce and fostering an atmosphere that optimizes worker participation, safety, and morale.

In addition, this role will oversee and manage daily dispatch, keep an eye on the master delivery schedule, and interpret the collective bargaining agreement. Within the parameters of his or her role, the operations supervisor advocates for injury/collision risk management and incident avoidance while making sure that safety is the top priority through efficient daily interactions and action plan execution with staff.

Without compromising store delivery goals or services, the incumbent will further guarantee optimal equipment use while promoting overall cost reductions. Strong technical assistance, direction, advice, and leadership are provided by this job to the transportation and warehouse departments at a designated distribution center.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and carry out the daily labor requirements for the current day and the upcoming week, minimizing overtime.
  • Organize daily shift meetings, convey pertinent operational and safety messages, solicit comments, and respond to inquiries.
  • Assign drivers’ and warehouse employees’ daily tasks to ensure dependability, productivity, safety, and service. Conditions are satisfied
  • Effectively oversee work processes while adhering to our collective bargaining agreement’s requirements.
  • Upkeep of the Xatanet, Syntellic, and Paragon software packages (a priori knowledge of these packages is advantageous)
  • Make and keep production schedules and/or master delivery schedules that include the restaurant’s route and other relevant details.

Other Duties

Continue to honor related employee bids:

  • Preserve statistical data about workers, output, dependability, tools, fuel, distance traveled, delivery timetables, maintenance, etc.
  • As you prepare and upload the daily route trial, make adjustments to the options to optimize safety, service, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Examine each driver’s trip log for legitimacy and legality.
  • Keep track of and verify the weekly payroll entries for drivers and/or warehousing employees.
  • Employees should receive guidance, instruction, and assistance to guarantee that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are understood and followed.
  • Oversee the in-house and in-route product quality control.
  • Investigate near-misses, injuries, and collisions; swiftly execute corrective steps; and disseminate conclusions widely.
  • Review service providers’ performance to ensure service and quality.

Headship

  • Carry out supervisory duties, such as following up with drivers and/or warehouse workers, and ensure that staff members are held accountable by rewarding and disciplining them.
  • Showcase your leadership abilities by forming productive teams and projecting a positive outlook.
  • Create and preserve productive working connections within the organization.
  • Take part in programs for training, inspection, investigation, and ongoing improvement.

Management

  • Compile and document statistical data for use in reporting.

Infrastructure & Gear

  • Make sure that the physical plant and transportation equipment are free from dangers and meet industry, company, and sanitary requirements.

Requirements

  • Make sure the operations abide by all transport laws and regulations, including the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), and the Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) / Good Drivers Practices (GDP).
  • Additional tasks or assignments

Necessary Knowledge and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, logistics, or a similar discipline, or its equivalent
  • Should ideally have three to five years of experience in unionized distribution, high volume, food service, or logistics
  • One to three years of increasingly accountable experience as a supervisor
  • Requires strong computer software (MS Office) skills
  • Proficiency in Routing and Onboard Software would be highly advantageous.
