POSITION: Head of Program Delivery and Impact

Job Description

The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) is a leading Pan-African economic policy institute dedicated to advancing Africa’s sustainable and inclusive development. We work directly with governments, businesses, and civil society to shape policies that drive long-term growth. As an African-led, globally connected organization, we produce influential research, provide strategic advice, and amplify Africa’s voice on the world stage.

We are now seeking a strategic leader to join us as Head of Program Delivery and Impact. This senior role is pivotal for ensuring our programs achieve tangible, measurable outcomes aligned with ACET’s mission. You will oversee project delivery, impact evaluation, and stakeholder engagement, contributing directly to our reputation as a world-class “think and do” tank.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead the effective execution and impact assessment of ACET’s diverse program portfolio. You will drive accountability, optimize resources, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation. This position is open to candidates based in Accra or working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Management:

Develop and implement strategies for effective program delivery and impact measurement.
Allocate resources strategically to maximize outcomes and ensure optimal use of funds.
Build strong relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders in collaboration with the Head of Partnerships.
Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project continuity and success.
Foster a culture of excellence, learning, and innovation across project teams.

Program Management and Delivery:

Oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with ACET’s research and policy goals.
Design and implement robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks.
Prepare detailed performance reports for donors and stakeholders, demonstrating measurable impact.
Manage program budgets, financial planning, and performance monitoring.
Collaborate with HR to identify capacity-building needs and develop staff training initiatives.

Your Profile and Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A Postgraduate degree in International Development, Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, or a related field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Six Sigma certification.
Minimum of seven years of proven experience managing complex projects in policy, research, or international development.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Expertise in impact measurement and donor reporting.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in French is a valuable asset.
