Key Responsibilities

As the Lead Chemist, your responsibilities will include:

Designing and overseeing experimental programs for CO₂-mineralisation and supplementary cementitious material (SCM) development.
Optimizing crystallisation pathways, reaction conditions, and material performance.
Enhancing characterisation workflows using techniques such as XRD, XRF, and SEM.
Supporting pilot plant validation to ensure lab results translate into industrial designs.
Mentoring scientists and fostering a high-performance culture within the team.
Implementing structured R&D processes and analytical disciplines.
Collaborating with universities and industry partners for innovative solutions.
Presenting technical results to leadership and stakeholders effectively.

Job Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates should have:

A PhD in chemistry or materials science.
Over 8 years of R&D experience in inorganic chemistry or materials.
At least 5 years in a senior role, preferably in a startup environment.
Proven skills in experimental design, data analysis, and material optimization.
Hands-on experience with analytical tools such as XRD, XRF, and SEM.
A strong ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
Experience transitioning technology from the lab to pilot scale (TRL 4–7).
Excellent communication skills to thrive in fast-paced environments.
Desirable Experience may include familiarity with cement chemistry, industrial crystallisation, and environmental regulations.
