Role Overview

As a Forest Officer, you will plan and supervise comprehensive reforestation programs that support ecosystem recovery and climate resilience. You will coordinate site preparation, species selection, and planting operations while ensuring environmental compliance and biodiversity conservation. This position requires both technical knowledge and community engagement skills in diverse field environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and coordinate reforestation activities using appropriate silvicultural methods
  • Select native tree species suited to specific site conditions and restoration objectives
  • Oversee site preparation, planting operations, and post-planting maintenance
  • Implement monitoring systems to track tree survival and project progress
  • Work closely with local communities to promote sustainable land-use practices
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, including landowners and government agencies
  • Conduct training sessions for community groups and field staff
  • Facilitate participatory approaches to forest management and restoration
  • Supervise field staff, contractors, and community volunteers

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Requirements:

  • Valid motorbike license and proficiency in off-road riding
  • Fluency in Twi and strong local dialect communication skills

Technical Competencies:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of silviculture and reforestation methodologies
