Job Duties

Lead technical design and delivery across multi disciplinary engineering teams.
Define architecture standards across cloud services and legacy integration systems.
Develop and maintain services using Java Spring Boot and AWS technologies.
Build serverless solutions using Lambda Node.js and modern deployment frameworks.
Oversee CI CD pipelines and ensure reliable automated software delivery processes.
Mentor engineers and promote best practices in software development and testing.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions effectively.
Implement security best practices including OWASP standards and secure design principles.
Support modernisation of legacy systems using incremental migration strategies approaches.

Job Requirements

Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or related field required.
Strong experience leading engineering teams and delivering production systems successfully.
Expert knowledge of Java Spring Boot and cloud based architecture.
Experience with AWS serverless technologies including Lambda and event driven systems.
Strong understanding of DevOps practices CI CD and infrastructure as code.
Ability to work in Agile environments with cross functional teams.
Excellent communication skills for technical and non technical stakeholders clearly.
Experience in UK public sector or government digital delivery projects.
Familiarity with secure systems and compliance driven engineering environments required.
Experience with microservices architecture and distributed system design preferred strongly.
