Job Duties

Leading strategic management of commissioner contracts and specialised NHS income streams.
Managing the Trust’s annual income planning and long-term financial forecasting processes.
Overseeing monthly income assurance, validation, reconciliation, and financial reporting activities.
Developing and supervising the Income Team while maintaining excellent service delivery standards.
Advising senior executives on financial risks, policy changes, and income improvement strategies.
Representing the Trust during negotiations with NHS England, ICBs, DHSC, and healthcare providers.
Supporting financial modelling activities that strengthen long-term healthcare operational sustainability.
Ensuring accurate compliance with NHS payment systems, tariffs, and commissioning frameworks.

Job Requirements

A fully qualified accountant certification through CCAB or an equivalent professional body.
More than ten years of finance department experience, preferably within NHS healthcare organizations.
Extensive experience advising senior finance and non-finance stakeholders on complex financial matters.
Expert understanding of NHS payment systems, tariffs, coding, and commissioning arrangements.
Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic planning experience.
Excellent leadership abilities with experience managing high-performing finance teams effectively.
Knowledge of NHS financial systems, patient-level costing, and service line reporting processes.
Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management capabilities across healthcare environments.
