POSITION: Finance Manager 

Catholic Relief Services is looking for an experienced and strategic Finance Manager to strengthen financial systems within its Country Office. Role Overview

The Finance Manager will lead financial operations across the Country Office and partner organizations. You will ensure efficient financial processes while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and donor regulations. At the same time, you will guide teams and strengthen financial systems to reduce risk.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will take on a wide range of responsibilities that drive financial performance and accountability:

Financial Management and Process Oversight

  • Develop and manage financial processes across the full project lifecycle
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on budgeting, reporting, and compliance
  • Ensure alignment with organizational policies, GAAP standards, and donor requirements

Budgeting and Financial Planning

  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and project financial plans
  • Monitor budget performance and ensure efficient use of resources
  • Maintain consistency and accuracy in financial data across programs

Accounting and Reporting

  • Review financial transactions to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Maintain proper documentation to support audits and reporting
  • Prepare financial reports and share insights with leadership teams

Risk Management and Analysis

  • Analyze financial data and provide projections to support decision making
  • Identify potential risks and implement strategies to minimize exposure
  • Support program managers in interpreting financial performance

Team Leadership and Capacity Building

  • Supervise finance and grant staff within the Country Office
  • Provide coaching and support professional development
  • Strengthen the financial capacity of staff and partner organizations

Audit and Compliance

  • Ensure timely submission of reports to stakeholders and donors
  • Address audit findings and implement sustainable improvements
  • Monitor compliance with local regulations and organizational standards

Furthermore, your leadership will ensure that financial systems remain strong and responsive to operational needs.

Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
  • Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA will provide an advantage
  • Minimum of five years experience in a similar role, preferably within an international NGO
  • Strong experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and accounting

In addition, candidates should demonstrate knowledge of donor regulations and local financial reporting standards.
