Croatia Government Scholarships 2026/2027 at University of Prizren

European education without the burden of tuition fees sounds like a dream. The Croatian Government Scholarships 2026/2027 turn that dream into reality for international students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers. Now open for applicants at the University of Prizren, this programme offers funded study and research placements at accredited public Croatian universities and institutes.

Croatia’s Ministry of Science, Education and Youth runs this initiative alongside the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes. The Croatian State Budget funds every scholarship. Mobilities run from October 2026 through September 2027, excluding July and August.

What Study Paths Exist

The programme offers seven distinct scholarship categories. Each targets a different academic stage and duration.

  • A1 Croatian language semester course for Bachelor’s or Master’s students lasting 4 to 5 months
  • A2 Partial semester Bachelor’s or Master’s studies running 4 to 10 months
  • B Full degree Bachelor’s or Master’s studies with limited eligibility lasting 12 to 48 months
  • C1 Full doctoral programme with limited eligibility for 36 months
  • C2 Partial PhD studies or doctoral research lasting 1 to 10 months
  • D Postdoctoral studies and research for 1 to 10 months
  • E Short postdoctoral research visit lasting 3 to 29 days
  • F Summer seminar of Croatian language in Dubrovnik for two weeks in August 2026

Financial Support

The scholarship does more than waive tuition. Monthly payments land in your account while accommodation and meals stay affordable.

  • Undergraduate and Master’s students receive 300 euro per month plus tuition free study, subsidised housing in student halls, and subsidised meals. July and August bring no payments
  • Doctoral students get 320 euro per month for full or partial PhD studies plus tuition free enrolment and subsidised accommodation and meals. July and August exclude payments
  • Postdoctoral researchers receive 480 euro per month for stays of 1 to 10 months plus tuition free placement and subsidised housing
  • Short research visits offer 30 euro daily per diem for 3 to 29 days plus subsidised accommodation
  • Summer seminar participants enjoy tuition free study, free accommodation, free meals, and a full cultural programme with no monthly stipend needed

The monthly grant contributes to living costs rather than covering everything. Plan to have personal funds for at least two months of expenses. Physical presence in Croatia for 15 uninterrupted days each month unlocks the full payment. Travel costs to and from Croatia remain your responsibility.
