Korea University SK Global Scholarship 2026
For international students who want to build careers in artificial intelligence, semiconductor engineering, or advanced computing, South Korea now offers a funded pathway to a master’s degree. Korea University Graduate School has opened applications for the SK Global Scholarship Program 2026, a comprehensive financial package designed to train the next generation of technology specialists in Seoul.
This program targets talented students from Europe, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and South Asia. It focuses on strategic fields like Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Computer Security, Radio Communications Engineering, and Semiconductor Engineering. These sectors face growing global demand for experts, and Korea University wants to attract the best minds to address that challenge.
The scholarship supports up to 20 international scholars each year. Ten students join the AI and IT track, while another ten enter the Semiconductor track. This structure ensures small cohorts and focused mentorship throughout the two year master’s degree.
Financial Coverage
The SK Global Scholarship removes most major expenses so you can focus entirely on your research and studies. Korea University has designed a package that covers everything from your flight to your monthly living costs.
Here is exactly what you receive:
- Round-trip airfare support up to 3,000,000 KRW, usually split between your arrival and departure
- Entrance fee coverage of about 1,142,000 KRW at the start of your first semester
- Full tuition coverage valued at roughly 7,392,000 KRW per semester for all four semesters
- Monthly living allowance of 1,500,000 KRW throughout the entire two year program
- Medical insurance through a university arranged private plan
- Optional Korean language training support if you need it, with the scholarship covering costs above 1,000,000 KRW
This comprehensive support means you can graduate with minimal personal debt and maximum exposure to one of Asia’s most dynamic technology hubs.
Eligibility Requirements
Korea University seeks academically strong students with genuine interest in advanced technology fields. You must satisfy several conditions to qualify.
You need citizenship from an eligible region including selected countries in Europe, Southeast Asia, East Asia, or South Asia. Your parents must also hold citizenship outside South Korea. You must have a Bachelor’s degree already or expect to graduate before the program starts.
Language proficiency matters too. You need to demonstrate English or Korean skills through one of these accepted tests:
- TOEFL iBT score 71 or higher
- IELTS Academic 5.5 or higher
- CEFR B2 level or higher
- New TEPS 326 or higher
- TOPIK Level 3 or higher
If you completed your previous degree entirely in English or Korean, you may qualify for a language test exemption. Students from countries like Pakistan and India in South Asia can apply if they meet the academic and language criteria.
How to Apply
The entire application runs through Korea’s international admissions portal. This online system makes it accessible no matter where you live.
Follow these steps to submit a strong application:
- Start by visiting the official Study in Korea online system and create your personal applicant account. Select Korea University Graduate School and begin filling out the SK Global Scholarship application form. Upload all required documents including your academic transcripts, bachelor’s degree certificate or expected graduation proof, language test results, your CV, a statement of purpose, and a copy of your passport.
- Request a recommendation letter from a university faculty member. Your recommender must submit it directly through the portal. Do not wait until the last minute to ask for this letter. Give your professor plenty of time to write something meaningful.
- Review your entire application carefully before you submit. Double check every document and every answer. Once you submit, the Korea University Graduate School review committee evaluates your materials. Most assessments rely on document evaluation, though some departments may request interviews if they need more information.
Application Deadlines
The application window runs from 3 March 2026 to 31 March 2026. That gives you several weeks to prepare, but do not delay. Start gathering your documents now.
The final admission results will appear on 4 June 2026. Mark that date so you know when to expect news. If you receive an offer, you will need to move quickly on visa arrangements and travel plans.
South Korea offers a world class education system and a vibrant cultural experience. This scholarship removes the financial barriers that keep many talented students from pursuing advanced degrees abroad. If you have the grades and the drive, Korea University wants to hear from you.
