The position is based in Dallas, Texas, with additional work locations including Charlotte, North Carolina; Columbus, Ohio; and New Jersey, operating on a hybrid schedule with four days onsite per week.

About Role

The Google Cloud Data Architect will lead the design and implementation of a modern cloud-based data architecture for a major enterprise transformation initiative. The project focuses on migrating an on-premises SQL data warehouse to a scalable data lake environment on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The role involves designing enterprise-grade data pipelines, building analytics-ready data models, and enabling advanced capabilities such as natural language querying, trend analysis, and GenAI-driven insights. You will collaborate with data engineering, security, and analytics teams to build a high-performance data ecosystem that supports enterprise reporting, cybersecurity analytics, and cross-domain decision-making.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable data lake architectures on Google Cloud Platform
Lead migration of on-premises SQL data warehouses to cloud-based environments
Build and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines for enterprise data ingestion
Develop analytics-ready data models and semantic layers for reporting and BI
Implement robust data governance, lineage tracking, and quality frameworks
Design secure IAM-based access controls and data protection mechanisms
Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to support AI and GenAI use cases
Ensure reliability, performance optimization, and operational monitoring of data platforms

Requirements

10–14+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience designing solutions on Google Cloud Platform
Strong experience with cloud data lake architecture and data modeling
Expertise with BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Pub/Sub architectures
Advanced Python programming and BigQuery SQL optimization skills
Experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools such as Hive, Pig, and Sqoop
Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and lineage frameworks
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification (required or within 3 months)
Eligibility for U.S. H-1B visa sponsorship
