Key Responsibilities

As a Driver with Ghana Baptist University College, you will become an essential support pillar for both academic and administrative functions. Your primary mission will be to provide safe, courteous, and efficient transportation services. More specifically, your daily responsibilities will include:

Safe and Reliable Transport: You will provide safe and dependable driving services for a variety of passengers, including university staff, students, and official guests. Your professionalism behind the wheel will directly contribute to their peace of mind.
Supporting Core Activities: Beyond routine transport, you will play a vital role in supporting academic and administrative activities by ensuring timely transportation for field trips, official meetings, and other university-related events.
Vehicle Maintenance & Care: You will be responsible for the overall well-being of assigned vehicles. This includes conducting routine checks, ensuring the vehicle is always clean and presentable, and performing basic maintenance tasks to keep it in optimal condition.
Meticulous Record Keeping: To maintain transparency and accountability, you will keep accurate and up-to-date vehicle logbooks. Furthermore, you will be expected to report any faults, incidents, or maintenance needs promptly to the appropriate authorities.
Strict Compliance: Finally, you will always operate within the bounds of the law and university policy. This means strictly complying with all traffic regulations and adhering to the university’s internal transport policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Attributes

We are seeking a candidate who combines the right formal qualifications with a proven track record and the personal attributes necessary to thrive in an academic environment. To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

Educational Foundation: A minimum qualification of SSSCE, WASSCE, or an equivalent certificate is required, demonstrating a basic educational foundation
Valid Professional Licence: You must possess a valid Ghana Driver’s Licence, specifically Class B, C, or a higher classification
Proven Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant driving experience is essential. Experience gained within a tertiary institution, such as a university or college, will be considered a distinct advantage.
Road Safety Knowledge: A strong and demonstrable knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques is non-negotiable.
