The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a dynamic and disciplined professional to fill the role of Alarm Response Deputy Operations Manager. This position is based in Accra and reports directly to the Head of Alarm Response or the Operations Manager. Your primary purpose is to drive a “reset mindset” within our Alarm Response Department. You will enforce discipline, ownership, standard operating protocols, and KPI led performance. Ultimately, you will ensure that every dispatch we handle receives a response marked by speed, professionalism, and accountability.

Key Objectives You Will Deliver

As Deputy Operations Manager, you will focus on achieving several critical objectives. Your leadership will transform our operations and elevate our performance standards. Specifically, you will:

  • Implement Standardized Protocols: You will implement and enforce standardized protocols for all alarm response operations. This includes dispatch procedures, escalation paths, arrival protocols, handover processes, and reporting standards. Consistency is key to reliability.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: You will drive operational excellence through daily readiness checks and consistent field discipline. Your vigilance will ensure teams are always prepared to respond.
  • Ensure Technology Compliance: You will ensure full compliance and effective use of our operational technology. This includes the Patriot dispatch system, Plink, Hytera radio systems, vehicle tracking, dash cams, body cams, and incident reporting tools. Technology enhances our capabilities when used correctly.
  • Establish and Manage KPIs: You will establish and manage Key Performance Indicators across the response function. These KPIs will cover response times, patrol readiness, incident reporting quality, shift performance, vehicle condition, and client satisfaction. Data drives improvement.
  • Strengthen Coordination: You will strengthen coordination between the Control Room, Field Teams, and Supervisors. Seamless communication ensures reliable 24/7 coverage for our clients.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement: You will lead continuous improvement initiatives. This includes conducting post-incident debriefs, implementing corrective actions, providing refresher coaching, and enforcing standards consistently.

Core Responsibilities

Your daily responsibilities will encompass team leadership, operational oversight, and client support. You will serve as the backbone of our alarm response operations.

  • Shift and Team Leadership: You will supervise shift commanders, drivers, riders, and response officers. You will enforce punctuality, readiness, and professionalism across all team members.
  • Dispatch and Field Execution: You will confirm that alarm handling procedures are followed from activation to closure. You will maintain high standards of radio discipline and on-scene conduct.
  • Vehicle and Equipment Readiness: You will ensure daily inspections for vehicles, motorcycles, cameras, radios, tracking units, uniforms, and response kits. You will escalate defects immediately and enforce compliance with maintenance standards.
  • Reporting and Accountability: You will ensure incident reports are accurate, timely, and professionally written. You will investigate exceptions and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Training and Standards: You will support onboarding and refresher training for new and existing team members. You will maintain Standard Operating Procedure compliance and provide field coaching as needed.
  • Client and Stakeholder Support: You will assist with sensitive incidents and escalation communication. Where applicable, you will coordinate with law enforcement partners to ensure a comprehensive response.

Required Profile and Experience

To excel in this demanding role, you need a specific background and skill set. We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Preferred Background: A law enforcement or military background is strongly preferred. Alternatively, equivalent experience in rapid response or security operations leadership will be considered.
  • Experience Requirements: A minimum of five years in security operations or rapid response is required.
  • At least two of those years must be in a leadership role, supervising teams and enforcing standards.

Core Competencies:

  • You must possess a strong command presence and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • You must demonstrate the ability to enforce standards without compromise.
  • High competence in radio communication and dispatch discipline is essential.
  • You should be comfortable with basic technology tools, including apps, reporting systems, and trackers. Exposure to CCTV and monitoring systems is an advantage
  • Excellent written reporting skills and attention to detail are non-negotiable.
  • A valid driver’s license is required. Experience with motorcycle operations is an advantage.
  • You must have a proven track record of discipline, neatness, and operational tidiness. This applies to teams, vehicles, stations, and personal appearance.
