About Role

As an Advanced Care Paramedic, you will deliver high-level emergency medical care across diverse environments, from urban centres to remote backcountry locations. You will assess emergency scenes, provide advanced life support, administer medications, perform airway management and electrical therapy, and lead ALS crews during patient transport and on-site care.

This role operates on rotating 12-hour shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call) and offers exposure to a wide variety of clinical presentations. Responsibilities

  • Assess emergency scenes and provide advanced life support care
  • Administer medications, airway adjuncts, and electrical therapy
  • Lead ALS crews during patient transport and on-scene treatment
  • Operate ambulances and assist with interfacility transfers
  • Ensure EMS vehicles are fully stocked, safe, and operational
  • Deliver patient care in challenging environments and all weather conditions
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and transferring patients
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow operational protocols

Requirements

  • Non-restricted registration in good standing as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR) certification
  • Eligibility for a Class 4 Alberta Operator License (or equivalent)
  • Valid driver abstract meeting employer standards
  • Successful completion of the F.A.R.E. functional abilities test
  • Ability to perform full operational duties upon commencement
  • Previous EMS or healthcare experience preferred
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts in a rural/northern setting
  • Eligibility to work in Canada (visa or permit support may be considered for suitable candidates)
