Position Overview

We are recruiting qualified candidates for the position of Credit Officer. This role is fundamental to our lending operations, encompassing client acquisition, loan disbursement, portfolio management, and recovery activities. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between the institution and our valued clients, ensuring responsible lending and exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Loan Marketing and Client Acquisition: You will actively market the bank’s microfinance loan products to prospective clients, promoting financial inclusion and expanding our customer base.
Loan Disbursement and Recovery: A core responsibility involves the disbursement of group loans according to approved policies and the timely recovery of installments from borrowers.
Microfinance Operations Management: You will manage daily microfinance operations, carefully assess loan applications, and provide sound financial advisory services to guide client decision-making.
Customer Service Excellence: Delivering exceptional customer service and resolving client issues promptly and professionally is crucial for maintaining trust and fostering long-term relationships.

Required Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of HND or a Bachelor’s Degree from a credible, accredited tertiary institution.
Demonstrated experience in microfinance lending, group loan management, or related financial services is highly advantageous.
Motorcycle riding ability with a valid license is highly recommended, as field mobility is essential for client engagement and loan monitoring.

Competencies and Technical Skills

Computer Literacy: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, is mandatory.
Communication Excellence: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to diverse clients.
Analytical Ability: Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail when assessing loan applications and client financial data.
Professional Integrity: Demonstrated high standards of personal integrity, professionalism, and unwavering adherence to ethical lending practices.
Problem Solving: Proven capacity to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
