About Role

As City Events Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for major third-party events delivered across Liverpool. The position sits at a senior level and carries responsibility for event governance, safety compliance, stakeholder coordination, and commercial delivery.

You will lead the assessment, scoping, and facilitation of high-profile external events, acting as the principal liaison between organisers, emergency services, internal departments, and national bodies. This role also involves mentoring the Events and Creative Producing Team, deputising for the Head of City Events when required, and embedding innovation, sustainability, and social value into all programming.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and delivery of major third-party city events and partnerships
  • Oversee safety-critical documentation, including risk assessments, operational plans, and crowd management strategies
  • Act as a  senior liaison for external organisers, emergency services, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and governance requirements
  • Provide technical leadership on licensing, public protection, procurement, and commercial negotiations
  • Support and develop the Events and Creative Producing Team
  • Deputise for the Head of City Events when required
  • Drive innovation, sustainability, and social value across all event activities
  • Manage relationships with national event bodies and commercial partners
