The United States, China, India, and Russia are top producers of cereals and vegetable crops. China is the leading producer of rice and wheat. It is also the largest producer of many vegetables including onions and cabbage. Nigeria is the largest producer of millet on the African continent.

One of the most cultivated crops in Africa is cassava measuring about 200 million tonnes produced annually. The production of cassava in Africa makes up 63% of what is produced in the world. Other produce is sugar cane, maize, plantains, sweet potatoes, and yams.

1 . To begin with, SIERRA LEONE
Agriculture plays a significant role in the economy of Sierra Leone. Agriculture accounts for 61.2% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product. The crop exported in the largest quantity is cocoa. Other crops include cassava, sorghum, millet, maize, oil palm, sugar cane, coconut, and coffee. The country export about 2368 tonnes of agric products.
2 . Secondly, CHAD
Chad is the second-largest exporter of gum to various countries especially the United States and China. It is also one of the world’s largest suppliers of a sesame seed. According to the International Trade Centre, Chad exported USD 33.8 million of sesame seeds and USD 21.5 million of gum Arabic in 2019. Other foods like mangos, cashews, peanuts, and dates are produced on a large scale. Agriculture accounts for 47.73% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product.
3 . Also, LIBERIA
Most people depend on agriculture in Liberia as it is the livelihood of most people. Most of the products produced include cassava, rubber, rice, oil palm, cocoa, or sugarcane. The dominant revenue generator is rubber and it accounts for 13.5 percent of total export. The country also produces 22,465 metric tons of palm oil. The Gross Domestic Product recorded from agriculture accounts for 42.6%
4 . NIGER is another country
The country’s agricultural economy is normally based on the internal market. Agriculture accounts for 37.81% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product. The main products exported are millet, sorghum, cassava, and sugar cane.
5 . Lastly, MALI
Cotton and cereals such as rice, wheat, millet, and sorghum are the dominant produce from the country. The agriculture sector accounts for 36.1% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product.
