5 COUNTRIES WHO HAVE RECEIVED LATEST FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM IMF

The IMF has been providing financial assistance to its member countries since its inception. It also provides debt service relief to its member countries facing economic hardship. There are several countries that have recently received support from IMF. Below is a list of countries that have received the latest financial assistance from the IMF by region.

LIST OF COUNTRIES WHO HAVE RECEIVED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM IMF

1. Firstly, Asia and Pacific Region

To begin with, there are several countries in the Asia and Pacific Region that have received financial assistance from the IMF. These countries include Bangladesh,  Mongolia, Samoa, Tonga, as well as Papua New Guinea. The type of Emergency Financing received by these countries includes Rapid Financing Instrument and Rapid Credit Facility.

Also, the amount approved un SDR to theses countries includes Bangladesh- SDR 355.53 million, Mongolia-SDR 21.2 million, Samoa- SDR 16.2 million, Tonga- SDR 6.9 million, and Papua New Guinea-SDR 263.2 million.

2. Secondly, Europe Region

Also, countries in the Europe Region that have received financial assistance from the IMF include Albania, Moldova, Montenegro, and Ukraine. Stand-By Arrangement, Rapid Financing Instrument, and Rapid Credit Facility are the types of emergency Financing received by these countries. The amount approved in SDR for these countries is Albania-SDR 139.3 million, Moldova-SDR 57.5 million, Montenegro-SDR 60.5 million,  and Ukraine-SDR 3,600 million.

3. The next Region is the Middle East and Central Asia

Moreover, countries in the Middle East and Central Asia that have received financial support from IMF are Afghanistan  Armenia, Egypt,  Georgia, Mauritania, Tunisia, and Sudan. The emergency funding types received by these countries are Argumentation of ECF, Extended Credit Facility,  Rapid Financing Instrument, and Argumentation of Extended Fund Facility.

The amounts approved in SDR by the IMF to these countries are Afghanistan-SDR 161.9 million Armenia-SDR 128.8 million,  Egypt-SDR 2,037.1 million, Georgia-SDR 273.6 million,  Mauritania-SDR 20.24 million, Tunisia-SDR 545.2 million, and Sudan- SDR 1.733.05 million.

4. Thirdly, The Sub-Saharan African Region

Additionally, Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Congo, Ghana, Kenya, as well as  Liberia are some countries in the Sub-Saharan African region that have received the latest financial assistance from IMF. Rapid Credit Facility, Argumentation of ECF, Rapid Credit Facility,  Extended Credit Facility, and Extended Credit Facility Arrangement.

The amount approved in SDR for these countries are as follows: Angola- SDR 540.4 million, Benin- SDR 76.01 million, Cameroon- SDR 165.6 million, Chad- SDR 49.07 million, Congo- SDR 266.5 million, Ghana-SDR 738 million, Kenya-SDR 542.8 million and Liberia- SDR 36.q7 million.

5. Lastly, region is the Western Hemisphere

Some of the countries in the Western Hemisphere that have received financial assistance from IMF include Barbados, Bahamas, Bolivia, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Grenada,  Jamaica, as well as Mexico.

The emergency funding types received by these countries include Flexible Credit Line Arrangement, Rapid Financing Instrument, Rapid Credit Facility, Flexible Credit Line, and Argumentation of EFF.

The amount of money approved by the IMF in SDR is Barbados-SDR 66 million, Bahamas-SDR 182.4 million, Bolivia-240.1 million, Colombia-SDR 7,849.6 million, Dominican Republic-SDR 477.4 million, Grenada-SDR 81.9 million, Jamaica-SDR 382.9 million, and Mexico-SDR 35,650.8 million.
